Florida Community Association Professionals (FCAP) held its second expo at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach on January 15, 2015. With 100-plus exhibitors and more than 500 attendees, the day was full of events that catered to managers, board members, and service providers.

The morning started off with several training options for managers and board members. Leading off the day was “Everything You Wanted to Know about Being a Board Member” taught by Ken Direktor of Becker & Poliakoff. Janet Romano with Stonegate Bank then led her class through the sometimes-difficult subject of “Understanding Bank Loans for Associations.” Connie Lorenz of Asphalt Restoration Technology Systems led the “ABC’s of Asphalt Maintenance” class.

Bringing his always-entertaining style, Mitch Drimmer with SNAP Collections by AFS spear-headed the “Community Association Collections… Everything You Need to Know about Collections” class. Closing out the day was Erik Whynot with Ball Janik guiding his class on the topic of “Construction Defects: Owners Rights and Board’s Responsibilities.”

In between these training sessions, the attendees gathered on the show room floor to meet the service providers who were exhibiting. The show room floor interaction was an excellent opportunity for the readers of FLCAJ to meet the vendors who service this industry.

Not only did the attendees meet the service providers, but the Reader’s Choice Awards were presented, as well. For more information on the RCA Awards, please be sure and read the April 2015 issue, which will have the special Reader’s Choice Extra.

FCAP is grateful for all those that participated in The Show. We would like to extend a special thank you to our sponsors who are shown here.
