The owner of Landex, Harry C. Powell, Jr., began his career in real estate in the 1960s. He was president of the largest community development company in Southwest Florida, known as Lehigh Corporation. As a community developer, Mr. Powell was responsible for multi-millions in land and home sales and is well known by all for his tutelage and involvement in many varied projects. His personal mission and vision statement is to create or manage a project to the satisfaction of the owners and customers.
Landex currently has 18 employees, including the incredible seven-women team who runs the corporate office. They manage a total of 15 associations (HOA, POA, commercial, and residential condominiums) and two vacation properties/timeshares that comprise $96,200,000 in property values with aggregate annual budgets of $4,718,000. In addition, their sister company, Landex Realty, produces another $1,200,000 in rental revenue for the vacation properties and timeshare owners in associations they manage.

Once again, we are humbled and truly blessed to be selected as a Readers’ Choice Award winner company at the Diamond Level by our loyal customers. The year 2020 was unprecedented. Our goals were to keep our incredible team employed and to continue to operate as ethically and as effectively as possible. I believe we succeeded on both counts.
We did not jump on the bandwagon of air purifying or other unproven technologies/gimmicks. We went back to basics and said, “Let us come and clean and sanitize your trash chute doors.” They are touched by so many people each day—and who washes their hands before they take out the garbage? We priced the service affordably, and many properties signed up. Even at the height of the lockdown, there were still fire safety inspections and violations and smelly trash chutes. With some luck and careful planning, we not only kept everyone employed, but we also added some new team members to our family!
All of us had different challenges and different fears, but we were united in that the residents of the buildings that you manage and we service still deserved the best quality of work from the most qualified and licensed vendors. With every safety protocol in place, we continued to do our job. “Thank You” is all we can say—for being loyal; for voting for us again; for surviving 2020!
