It is with great excitement that FLCAJ presents the 2015–2016 Salary & Information Survey. The information is entirely dependent on readers participating in the Survey by either going online at or by providing information to the
Salary Calculator on the CondoJobs website at This year, the links will be accessible all year long, so that we can maximize the number of responses and provide an even better base of information. So let this be an encouragement to you to visit one of the aforementioned websites and take part in the next Salary Survey.

The good news from this year’s Salary Survey is that the average annual salary increased by more than $4,000 from approximately $56,000 in 2014 to more than $60,000 in 2015. This is offset by the fact that in 2014, 73 percent of the Survey respondents reported that health insurance was provided compared to 58 percent in this year’s Survey.

Another important article in this issue, “Board Essentials: Some Bare Necessities”, provides helpful advice to boards of directors on how to carry out their responsibilities. There is important information on roofing projects, carrying out the board’s fiduciary duty, dealing with and responding to conflict and/or criticism, holding purposeful meetings, and getting a head start on hurricane preparation for 2016.

Finally, FLCAJ would like to remind you of the upcoming Communities of Excellence event that will be held May 13 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach. It is not too late to enter your community in one of the 11 categories plus a community video showcase, but the deadline for nominations is coming up on January 31. So go now to and enter your community in the 2016 Communities of Excellence Awards.
